£5,200 raised by Greencore Foodservice For Local Charity

At their official launch at the end of November, Greencore Foodservice Supported local charity, St Gemma's Hospice by donating a carriage on the Orient Express' Northern Belle. Places on the train were auctioned, and the highest bidders 'won' a day trip with a 4 course champagne lunch. Elizabeth Baxter, Senior Fundraiser for St Gemma's was delighted, saying "On behalf of all the staff and patients at St. Gemma's Hospice, Leeds, I would like to thank Greencore Foodservice for so kindly donating the carriage on the Northern Belle from which we raised an amazing £4,200."

An additional £1,000 was raised via a collection at a Gala Dinner held the night before the Northern Belle trip. Neil Pinder, Managing Director for Greencore Foodservice extended his thanks to all the guests who participated and made this donation possible.

The total of £5,200 which was raised will go a long way to helping local people with terminal illnesses. It will fund a bed in St Gemma's in-patient unit for 16 days or it will pay for 37 people to visit their Day Hospice or it will enable 47 patients to be visited in their own home by St. Gemma's Community Nurse. Elizabeth went on to add "Greencore and all their staff should be very proud of the support that they have given to St. Gemma's and they can rest assured that all the money raised will be very well spent on the patients in our care."
